I cannot use my CPAP

Many patients who have been diagnosed with sleep apnea have been prescribed a sleep apnea machine with a face mask, A significant portion of the people have been given this device do not use it because of the bulk of the face mask and tubing and the continuous rush of air induced by the connected machine. If you have enough healthy teeth, an intraoral device can be used instead, depending of course on the severity of your condition. The device moves the jaw forward so that the obstruction in the back of the throat is reduced.

What about the Costs?

Medical insurance companies usually cover the charges for appliance therapy completely. Out of pocket expenses are required for X-rays and an examination.

What do I need for you to start?

You need:

• A copy of your most recent sleep study(A polysomnograph)
• A physician’s letter stating that you are CPAP intolerant
• Your insurance information
• I will provide a letter of medical necessity

What happens next?

The documentation is forwarded to your insurance company for a predetermination. Once that is approved we can start treatment.

Does Medicare cover that?

Only if one is a participant in their special program.
